Backpacking in Pine
I went backpacking in Pine, just below the Mogollon Rim. This was Tahoe's first backpacking trip. After about an hour on the continuously steep ascent, I decided that I should not be the one carrying all of his food, water, and bones. This has to change. I am buying him a doggie backpack.

I wish I could do that.

We hiked to Turkey Spring where I set up camp. Tahoe chased a squirrel up a tree; then stood there and waited for it to come down.

It is a beautiful wilderness area with ponderosa pine and Arizona sycamore.

These are creeper vines in the morning sunlight.
This area was untouched by the Dude fire in 1990.

Tahoe crosses the streams by walking across the rocks.
