Backpacking

Tahoe and I went backpacking near Blue Ridge on the Barbershop Trail. It is named after a sheep shearer who was also adept at cutting the other ranchers' hair. With all the monsoon rain recently, there were brightly colored muchrooms everywhere.
We hiked in about five miles to Buck Springs.
The trail was marked with cairns and tree blazes, but it was not maintained well, so there were places where the trail would disappear, and I would wander around for a few minutes trying to find the next blaze.
There were lots of small creeks, so I didn't have to tote a bunch of water everywhere. This one is in Dane Canyon.
Tahoe was tired after our hike and his side excursions to chase rabbits and squirrels. He has his own fleece blanket which he carries in his backpack, but he likes to rest his head on my fluffy sleeping bag.
After his nap, he sat outside of the tent for a couple hours to watch for elk or deer.
