Salkantay Pass

After a day and a half of an unfo9rgiving ascent, we finally made it to the highest point along our trek, Salkantay Pass. At 4,600 meters, it is, by far, the highest I have climbed. It was hard to breathe up there, but the views made it all worth the effort.

This is our happy little group of trekkers. I am glad we decided to do this alternate trail instead of the Inca Trail because we were able to experience solitude in the Andes.
