Trek to Colpapampa
We passed several small villages like this one during the trek. The children from nearby houses have to come to this village for school even though that means hiking miles in the sweltering heat with poor footwear.
We continued to follow the river downstream. The more we descended, the easier it was to hike and just breathe. On the downside, we encountered mosquito and black fly territory. They basically ate us alive. We were wearing insect repellant, but that didn't matter.
This was the most impressive waterfall of the trek. All the villagers had crops including: banana, passion fruit, papaya, coffee, and coca.
