Rábida

Rábida is a small, pretty island with red sand. A handsome lizard with rosy cheeks greeted us at the trailhead.
The snorkling was awesome. We saw angelfish, cabrilla, triggerfish, damselfish, sturgeonfish, morish idols, starfish, sea urchins, sponges, and lots of coral. The highlight of the trip was a huge black and white manta ray with a 9 foot fin span! It swam right at me, ducking at the last moment.
The sea lions win the cutest animal award. They frolic in the surf, snooze in the sand, and play in the sea. When we were snorkiling, they were curious and swam in circles around us, especially the young ones.
Sea lion trail to the water.
