Trapezoids
Everywhere you look, there are trapezoids. The Incas used them because they are structurally strong, and it became one of their symbols.
Almost all interior rooms had nitches like these. They probably stored their possessions stored in them.
Another characteristic of Inca architecture is the use of a large single stone on the top of windows and doorways.
What a view! This is the top of Urubamba Valley. The nearest river is 2,000 meters down, so they rely on the spring water for food preparation and cleaning.
