Grand Views

Wayna Picchu is the name of the mountain that stands directly north of the ruins, and you can take a steep trail to the top. After four days of hiking though, that was the last thing I wanted to do.
Raoul gave us a two hour tour of the sacred areas. He told us a lot about the Incas, but he would always end his statments with "probably" since nothing is really known for sure about these people. After the tour, I got to explore the site on my own, and I was happy to find that I could explore the whole place in one day.
This is a view from the residential sector, looking up at the agricultural sector and the Guardian's Hut. You can see that the rocks here are not carved so nicely; that is because the common people, slaves, and prisoners lived in this area.
