Exploring the Desert

Tahoe and I went hiking and found some old indian ruins near Superior. The rock walls were in good shape, but there weren't any potsherds.
Then, we hiked on an unmarked trail. There was green vegetation and white & rose quartz on the gound. Tahoe chased after two deer and got a bunch of cholla needles in his paws and legs. I pulled them out, but he is still limping a little.

They will dispute this until they get tired.

Boulder Canyon

We hiked this pretty desert trail in the Superstition Mountains. The views were spectacular.
The six mile long trail started at Canyon Lake, went up a ridge, and then skirted down the mountain into Boulder Canyon. You can see Weaver's Needle on the top left.
I was tired at the end, so I took off my Camelbak and shoes and rested in the dry creekbed below.

Nothin' beats a bone

Day 1: Tahoe prepares his bone by carrying it around proudly and licking it.
Day 2: He successfully destroyed one tip.

Day 3: The halfway point. It took him 5 days to eat it all. Actually, he would have eaten it all in one night, but I wouldn't let him.

Superstition Mountains

Tahoe and I hiked the Jacob's Crosscut Trail, and the Treasure Loop Trail. It was a beautiful day of 70 degrees.
Lichen.
Tahoe chased some rabbits and got cholla stuck in his paws, so I had to pull the needles out.
