Ro Ho En

Josh and I went to this Japanese Garden in downtown Phoenix.
There were different sections representing the various landscapes in Japan.
I wonder how long it took to arrange these rocks.
There were dozens of koi, and they seemed to be following us.





This one looks hungry.

Puppy dog eyes

Cowboy has mastered this cute look which renders me totally defenseless. I have to stop whatever I am doing to pet him.

Usery Mountain

We combined several short trails to make a six mile loop in the desert.Prickly pear pad.
Tahoe stands triumphantly on Cat Peak.

Tohono Chul

We went to this botanical garden in Tucson last weekend.
A desert spiny lizard sunned himself on the rock.
Saguaroman. His superpowers include withstanding heat, drought, and poor soil.
A veiw into the garden.
The indians used these giant gourds to store water.
This is an extremely rare crested barrel cactus. I have never seen one before.

Yard Work

Giraffes

Texas and Denver looked graceful as they ate leaves.
Zebo had a large callous on his leg. It looks weird but doesn't hurt him.





Zebo tried to coax Texas into a little afternoon action. He nuzzled her heck and followed her around for a long time, but she wasn't interested.

Reid Park Zoo

I liked the jaguars. They were curled up, napping together.
Good hairdo.
The male scarlet macaw preened the female.
A rare bird, the Kerrinus Thorpidus, hatched from its egg.
The aldabra tortoise munched the grass - very slowly.
The baboons lazed drowsily in the warm sun.
The lioness lives with her son because she tried to kill the other older male.




The albino peacocks displayed their beautiful white feathers.
